“ QT Medical’s PCA 500 is quite literally a lifesaver. My 85-year old father was diagnosed COVID-19 and, due to preexisting cardiac conditions, required careful monitoring during the course of his illness and treatment. He needed regular 12-lead EKG monitoring. Unfortunately, many physicians and some Urgent Care facilities have simply had to avoid seeing COVID-19 positive patients due to the substantial difficulties of protecting their own staff from direct exposure. This is where the PCA 500 is a lifesaver. Working with QT Medical and my father’s care team, we were able to get and use the PCA 500 for collecting EKGs at home. My 70-year old stepmother was able to be instructed on how to place the leads and do the EKG without anyone even having to enter the home to train her. The EKGs were then successfully uploaded to the cloud for timely review by my father’s care team. This ensured that he could remain at home for treatment and recovery while avoiding exposing himself to secondary opportunistic infections in hospital. It further helped avoid unnecessarily exposing medical professionals in physician’s offices and Urgent Care facilities to a COVID-19 positive patient just to do simple EKG monitoring.
